One of the highest honors you can recieve as an instrumental music student, is to be selected as a member of one of the SDHSAA All State Ensembles. For more information on each ensemble, please see below.

Prepared etudes (taken from the Voxman series)
Excerpts from the musical selections
Written exam of terms
When is the audition material available?
April of the previous year. See Mr. Stahle.
When are the auditions?
Early October in Huron, SD.
When is the event
Last weekend in October and rotates between Sioux Falls and Rapid City.

When is the audition material available?
You can (and should) start preparing the year before. We can pick out your solo and get you terms and scales right away. The only thing you wont have right away is the prepared etude.
When are the auditions?
Rotates between the second, third and fourth Saturday in January in Brandon.
When is the event?
Last weekend in March and rotates between schools across the state.

Improvisation optional

The audition material is usually posted late January.

Auditions are recorded and due early March.
