South Dakota Jazz Festival Details

MHS Jazz Students and Parents,

On Thursday, January 19th, the jazz bands will be traveling to the 2023 South Dakota Jazz Festival in Aberdeen on the campus of NSU.  Included on this sheet is the information you need to know for our trip. Please be aware of our load/departure times and especially our warm-up and performance times.

Make sure you have everything that you need for the performance before we leave Mitchell. Rhythm section is in charge of your own equipment (this includes loading, setting up, tear down, etc).  

1/19/23 NSU ITINERARY

6:00AM LOAD BUS

6:15AM DEPART FOR ABERDEEN

8:45AM ARRIVE IN ABERDEEN AND UNLOAD EQUIPMENT

9:00AM JAZZ 2 WARM-UP

9:40AM JAZZ 2 PERFORMANCE TIME/CLINIC

10:20AM JAZZ 1 WARMUP

11:00AM JAZZ 1 PERFORMANCE TIME/CLINIC

12:00PM LOAD BUS

12:15PM EAT LUNCH

1:30PM DEPART FOR MITCHELL

4:00PM APPROXIMATE ARRIVAL IN MITCHELL

Just so the parents are aware, this is not a competition (more of an early season educational opportunity).  You are more than welcome to come up and watch/listen but we are not competing.
